I pray the USCCB will start to look at their documents and news services much more critically, as now even they are beginning to realize what the new administration is all about.

It's regrettable that faithful Catholics couldn't mount more of a protest against "Faithful Citizenship." Not only did Catholics use this document to to defend their vote for Barrack Obama; I know of one priest who specifically referred to the document when telling a friend it was morally acceptable to vote for our now-current President. So much for “forming consciences for faithful citizenship.”

The independence of Episcopal Conferences from Rome is one of the most damaging legacies of the post-Vatican II Church. Perhaps Archbishop Burke is now in a position to help align the USCCB and others with Church teaching.

Aida Cordano
San FranciscoRoman Catholichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11488458201165885102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3256165281863652253.post-91968234562839814692009-01-29T08:51:00.000-08:002009-01-29T08:51:00.000-08:00Don't confuse Catholic News Agency with Catholic N...Don't confuse Catholic News Agency with Catholic News Service.
