This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.”

The UN declaration that Anonymous 7:28 AM cites can be found here: http://www.certidiritti.it/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=232:in-esclusiva-il-testo-della-proposta-francese-allonu-su-depenalizzazione-omosessualita&catid=1:ultime&Itemid=55

Sorry about the long link. But the text of the declaration is very difficult to find. I could not even find it on the UN’s own website. I hope this is accurate.

Section 6 (out of 13 sections) of the declaration applies to Anonymous’s concerns. There are 12 other sections, however! The declaration is a homosexual activist’s bill that includes one excellent section (section 6) with numerous other unacceptable clauses. This is a cynical ploy that we are very familiar with in American politics: include one undeniably good clause in a bill, then add on a number of other unacceptable clauses, and then if someone opposes the bill, blame them for opposing the single good clause. Obviously, if Section 6 was a stand-alone clause, the Vatican would be supporting it.

If Anonymous is really concerned about the legalized murder of same-sex attracted persons, and if indeed same-sex attraction is an inborn condition, his efforts would be better spent opposing abortion. If 5% of the population are same-sex attracted, and same-sex attraction is an inborn condition, then approximately 200 same-sex attracted persons are legally murdered every day (in the United Sates alone) through abortion.

Gibbons in SFAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3256165281863652253.post-8614727020672366592008-12-09T07:28:00.000-08:002008-12-09T07:28:00.000-08:00I didn't say the Vatican wants gays and lesbians m...I didn't say the Vatican wants gays and lesbians murdered. I said that it considers their deaths an acceptable price to pay in opposition to same sex marriage. Therefore, the Vatican will not defend gays and lesbians when they are wronged or even murdered.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3256165281863652253.post-75076867065003676212008-12-09T00:38:00.000-08:002008-12-09T00:38:00.000-08:00Anonymous..You are trying to make the article say ...Anonymous..
You are trying to make the article say things it does not say.

To paraphrase your comment - you think the Vatican wants the death of homosexuals. But your article says something different - "the Vatican continues to condemn the use of the death penalty for any crime, including those associated with homosexuality."

The church goes on to say in the Catechism of the Catholic church -
The Church says that “People suffering from a same sex attraction must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.
