This is especially true for issues related to sexual morality, especially contraception.

And yes, there is a huge problem getting this kind of advice from a priest or person who represents the Church.

Just this week, I heard from a young couple preparing for Catholic marriage in San Francisco. They are attending the required Diocesan Catholic Marriage Prep Program at the parish level.

One of the parish deacons is giving the Marriage Prep Class. Having been an ordained Deacon for a long time, he told the class of engaged couples that

"they as couples must decide for themselves--based on their own conscience--whether or not to use artificial birth control."

And that "the teaching of Humanae Vitae was not infallible and therefore it was not sinful for couples to choose to use artificial methods . . ." I could go on.

So now, couples in this class have been given the Church's 'blessing'--via a Deacon--to use artificial contraception in marriage.

But it doesn't necessarily end there. The cycle of wrongly catechized Catholic couples married as 'husband and wife' continues beyond the present.

The downstream negative effect of poor catechesis on marriage and family is what helps generate a seriously dysfunctional and confused society on many levels as we are now painfully aware--in this instance, with the help of a Catholic City Councilman's vote--to permit a pro-contraception/pro-abortion and truly destructive organization like Planned Parenthood to be built for the 'common good.'

Now is the time for all good men and women to come to the aid of . . . their Church.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3256165281863652253.post-16409805465405751142013-09-04T12:35:00.127-07:002013-09-04T12:35:00.127-07:00No way of knowing who the faithless priest who so ...No way of knowing who the faithless priest who so wrongly advised the one councilman.
