Blessings at Christmas

“He that takes truth for his guide, and duty for his end, may safely trust to God's providence to lead him aright.” —Blaise Pascal (French mathematician, philosopher, physicist and writer, 1623-1662)

May the Lord show you the way and support you in fidelity to His law.

A Blessed Christmas!

A Catholic apologist said recently that "In the Eastern Catholic and Eastern Orthodox traditions, it is considered inappropriate for a layman to presume to offer blessings to a priest since the priest is the one who is supposed to offer blessings to the layman." But she didn't say if it was appropriate in the Roman Catholic tradition other than to say that "A Latin Catholic priest who sympathizes with the Eastern protocol" might be peeved. I hope you would not be offended if we say Merry Christmas Fr. Malloy (and Mr. Gibbons) for sharing your time and thoughts with us!
