"I don’t think the bishops waded into politics. I think politics waded into them."

So writes the very widely followed libertarian blogger Glenn Reynolds at Instapundit. Here's his full entry, which links to the Roll Call article he is commenting on.

Of course. Proponents of "the separation of church and state" pretty much only see that separation as working in one direction--restricting the realm of action of the church.
