Archbishop Cordileone Reminds Us of Our Duty to Jesus

God bless our good shepherd! We must be in agreement with the Church, both in thought and deed, to receive Holy Communion. Check out his video on properly receiving God:

I myself sometimes see Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar as the same as Jesus on the cross. He is there, defenseless, helpless. Will I hurt him or not? If I receive communion unworthily I am hurting a defenseless Jesus.

"Let not the partaking of Thy Body, Lord Jesus Christ, which I, unworthy, presume to receive, turn to my judgement and condemnation, but through Thy goodness may it be to me a safeguard and remedy both of soul and body."
