More than once, (see here and here) we've chronicled the relentless onslaught of the homosexualist agenda in our Archdiocese of San Francisco. This onslaught has been going on for decades. We who saw it develop could watch, and plead with our leaders for action, but to no avail.
But last Sunday, for good or ill, a tipping point may have been reached. His Excellency Archbishop George Niederauer celebrated Mass at the notorious Most Holy Redeemer parish.
Now, to list the misdeeds of Most Holy Redeemer parish would take more space than we have here. Suffice it to say that they are rooted in "gay culture" itself, which seeks to be recognized on a par with say, Chinese Culture, or Italian Culture.
When the Archbishop celebrated Mass at Most Holy Redeemer he was confronted with two members of the infamous Sister of Perpetual Indulgence in the communion line. What an opportune teaching moment!
It is important to understand who the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are, and what they do. Youtube has a video of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence holding an obscene "bingo" in MHR's Ellard Hall. Once you look at this video, you will see why last Sunday's events were so blasphemous. Barring divine intervention, the Catholic Church in this state is doomed. And now even the previously-ignorant can see that the corruption starts at the top with our metropolitan.

We used to be afraid of the priests in the Catholic Church, now we have to be afraid of the parishioners, who secretly spy, film and reports others at mass. How much more Nazi can we be here? You can’t even trust your own congregation? What type of people are you guys?
It appalls me that not once the Catholic Church has yet to seek evidence or invite the Sisters to find out what they really do, but yet go forth and condemn them without having all the facts. Is the word “nun” available only to Catholics, do you think you are the only spiritual order that can define what a nun is, what a nun does?
I ask myself, What Would Jesus Do in this case? From my teachings, Jesus would invite everyone to communion and if he really thought they were sinning, he would forgive them, unlike modern day Catholics whom I find are most un-Christ-like.
I would much rather have the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence on my team than the hypocritical Catholics who pick and choose who can be a part of them. Not once have the Sisters come forward and condemn one of you Catholics, it is you guys I see as the ones who are unloving, unforgiving. You guys never seek the facts.
As a straight man in San Francisco, I have seen nothing but good deeds these men and women do, I have NEVER seen them mock Catholics at all. You are twisting words. In the early 80’ to today I see them ministering to the people of San Francisco, raising money for AIDS, Cancer and other groups, yet I watched you homophobic bigots turn their backs on the gay community and literally watch people die in the streets.
I was always taught that the term Christian meant Christ-Like, yet I do not see any of you Catholics practicing that philosophy that, I see you judging, demeaning and hypocritical about others.
I grew up Catholic with abuse by horrible nuns, as most of us did, yet you seem to pick on a group of volunteers who have NEVER struck, mocked or inflicted guilt or shame on anyone, yet we are supposed to accept your definition of a nun which are abusive, unkind and judging. Perhaps the Catholic Church needs to take a lesson from the other Sisters to show what it really takes to be of service, kind, loving and accepting. Perhaps you would have more nuns on your team.
Shame on you Catholics – just another good reason that I am happy I left the Church long ago.

Surely you don't mean this. The Nazi's killed 6 million people. How does someone filming an abuse at Mass compare?

The key word here is "my." How do we know Jesus, what he taught, and what he would do? Of course if we are concerned only with "my teachings," we will invent a Jesus who is permissive, doesn't challenge us at all, and caters to our every whim. In order to truly know Jesus, we must rely on scripture and the teachings of the Church.

Would Jesus forgive them? Absolutely, if they repent! Christ did not offer forgiveness without repentance. The Greek word for repentance is "metanoia," which literally means turning around. We must turn from sin in order to embrace what Christ gave us. Yes, Jesus did stop the adulteress from being stoned, but just as important are his parting words, "Go, and sin no more" (Jn 8:11). Similarly, Jesus commands forgiveness of our brother, but note his caveat: "If your brother sins, rebuke him; if he repents, forgive him" (Lk 17:3). We can forgive only those who repent, and we must rebuke first.
St. Paul tells us we must receive communion in a worthy state. "...whoever eats the break or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily will have to answer for the body and blood of the Lord." (1 Cor 11:27). The Catechism explains that if we are conscious of "grave sin" we must not receive communion without reconciliation.

Really, you can't be serious here. These are men who dress in religious garb, give themselves names like "Sister Chastity Boner," and appear at the Folsom St. Fair, whose advertisements featured a mockery of the Last Supper, and hence the Eucharist, replete with sex toys and men in leather. And they haven't mocked anyone?
The truth is the devil mocks holy things. Sex "toys" in the shape of crucifixes mock the cross on which Christ died for our sins; men in leather being flogged in "buttless" chaps mock our Savior's scourging; Anton LeVay's Black Mass mocked the real Mass; and the "Sisters" mock holy religious orders.
Our Archbishop has a responsibility not to lead others into sin. "Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea." (Mt 18:6) Sound "tolerant" to you? I have only been a Catholic for a few months, and episodes like this tend to lead one towards despair. However, I take great comfort that I know exactly what Jesus would do with such people. He would pray for them, and I do.
I see anonymous #2 is either invincibly ignorant or playing dumb.
To their credit, the SOPI are quite open about what they believe and what they oppose. Their take on sin and their open mocking of the Catholic Church and Her positions on sexual morality is quite easy to find with a decent web search engine. No need for a Catholic fishing expedition for evidence.
As Jesus taught, "Go and sin no more" while the SOPI teach "Go and sin some more," I think it's obvious what Jesus would do in their case. And since that same Jesus will be judging these perverts-- along with the rest of us-- at the hour of their deaths, I think they are going to find the campy getup not quite what one would wear to the Heavenly Banquet.
As it is, the Catholic Church is generally considered the world's largest provider of AIDS services, so our correspondent's claim that we blithely watch people die in the streets is a bit strange. Not in my parish, thank you very much.

I lived in CA for 32 years and these "weird sick people" were well known. I find it just rediculous that the bishop did not know who they were. And made it possible so they could further debase and mock the host in worse ways later on by giving them the sacred host. Why would he give communion to them? He should not be allowed in public as a bishop representing the church. Is he senile? How did he get to be bishop?
While I disagree with much of Fr. Malloy's thoughts, words and actions, I must agree that this particular incident at MHR deserves attention irrespective of Fr. Malloy's rantings about gays in general. The issue at hand isn't really about gays or homosexuality, it's about love and respect for our Eucharistic Lord.
As a gay Catholic, (yes, a gay AND practicing Catholic...how about that!) I am appalled by these "sisters" as much as anyone else and what happened at MHR recently. If you're a San Franciscan, you know who these "sisters" are all too well. While someone said, "What does he [Abp. Niederauer] know, he's from Utah..." that's no excuse. They stand out like a sore thumb wherever they go. Their costume alone should've provoked question. While they claim to do charitable work, they do so while making a parody of the Catholic Church and nuns. It's never right to make fun of anything.
When I read Abp. Niederauer's response to the incident, it seemed to me that he genuinely didn't realize who they were (they're not always in full camped-out garb). However, when I saw the video, well, it speaks for itself. They were definitely "on stage" that day. So, why did the Abp. do it? I wonder if Fr. Merriwether would've communicated the "sisters?"
The Eucharist is a Gift from God and a Gift of the Church. Only the bearer of the Gift can offer it or choose to withhold it. In this case, Abp. Niederauer could've used prudence before giving the "sisters" the Precious Body and Blood of Christ, as it's created a scandal for all as we can now see. Ultimately, it's the "sisters" that will have to answer for their actions, but it doesn't do the rest of us any good in the meantime.
I understand the desire to defend the Church and the Sacraments. It's too bad that a few bad apples in the bunch makes people (like Fr. Malloy) think that gays in general are evil and mislead. We're not. There are MANY, yes MANY of us who have a formed conscience and are practicing Catholics that love God, love His Church, and love His Sacraments, but also love a person of the same gender. Sorry, all, but that's just the way it is. So, please, don't bash us all, but rather let's stand together in solidarity and be proud of our Catholic Faith! We're not all like those "sisters" who ruin it for other gay people.

I am wee bit disheartened to find this blog. Another news story referenced this blogsite and I navigated to it. It strikes me as very sad that a blogger who identifies himself as "85 years *young*"does not offer more hopeful messages. In reading through these postings, I felt very sorry for this man, *presumably*, who served in seemingly prestigious roles in the Church. I would expect more from someone who had a leadership role, seems to have a real affinity for working with young people, and has a cat which commands some tenderness. If the blogger could restructure his musings to be more hopeful, the future would not be so bleak and dismal. I guess also I am feeling a little befuddled as to why he is lamenting and lambasting this generation. As a chronologically young person, I am wondering if this older/younger man does not realize that it was he that created the situation we are in. In the end, forgo bitterness, vitriole, and sarcasm. Make the last years of life imbued with more hope for you and all of us. Oremus pro invicem!
Father Malloy, I would like to tell you that I've been right by your side in the Pro-Life movement and support the rights of the unborn just like you. Oh, I happen to be gay as well.
