The State of California no longer recognizes brides and grooms. I'm just doing a Marriage License for one of this weekend's weddings.
Where it used to say "Bride" and "Groom" it now says "Party A" and "Party B."

We will always have the Sacrament of Matrimony.
From Psalm 37
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.
Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil.
For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.
A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found.
Father:
A suggestion for defiance -- Scratch out "Party A" and "Party B" and write in "Bride" and "Groom" in the right spaces.
Why did they stop there? It should say "Party A," "Party B," "Party C," and "Attach separate sheet if needed."
Patrick:
It's a good thought, but the County Clerks are very strict about the execution of marriage licenses. You're not even allowed to scratch things out or use whiteout.
