Intolerable.
The vote was 51-48 against the Blunt Amendment. Three Democrats switched sides to support the Constitution, and one Republican, retiring Olympia Snowe of Maine abandoned the Constitition for free birth control.
I used to think there was a contradiction between being a good Catholic and a member of the Democratic party--now I think there's a contradiction between being a good American and a member of the Democratic party.
