Tom Peters describes the recent meeting between USCCB staffers an the White House:
Cardinal Dolan: White House Lectured My USCCB Staff On How to Interpret Catholic Teaching!
Peters links to the letter Cardinal Dolan sent out after the meeting. The letter is very good, but we do take issue with this sentence:
"Instead, they (the White House) advised the bishops’ conference that we should listen to the 'enlightened' voices of accommodation, such as the recent, hardly surprising yet terribly unfortunate editorial in America."
Eminence, "fortune" had nothing to with it. It's a mistake to believe, or to pretend, that people like the editors of America are on the side of the Church.
