Day of Infamy

Today's the day!
June 16, 2008 will certainly go down as a DAY OF INFAMY In California.
Gay Marriage is Legal!

How foolish we are in accepting as legal what is unnatural and contrary to reason. Let’s forget religion for the moment.

Common sense tells us that gay marriage is no marriage, because a main purpose of marriage is the creation of the family. And the family needs children. Gay marriages cannot beget children. Adoption won’t do. Kids need mother and father.

There will always be people against equality. Marriage is a basic civil right that should be attainable by all Americans if they choose. For those who are uncomfortable with gay marriage check out our short produced to educate & defuse the controversy. It has a way of opening closed minds & provides some sanity on the issue: www.OUTTAKEonline.com

Nice try, Charlotte.

First you assume "equality," whatever that means, to be an unchallenged value. Imposing "equality" on things that are unequal is hardly a mark of "sanity."

Secondly, civil rights are decided by the body politic. That's why they're "civil." The Declaration of Independence say "governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed."

There has never been a state in the union that has consented to same-sex "marriage." It has been imposed on the body politic by rulings of the courts. Hence, it is unjust. And in Massachusetts, heavily-lobbied legislators even refused to let a constitutional amendment similar to the one in California be put on the ballot, even though there were more than enough signatures to do so. So much for respect for "civil rights"!
