Stop Obama At Notre Dame.

As is pretty well known by now, the University of Notre Dame has invited President Obama to be their commencement speaker on May 17. We join our brothers and sisters (and Fathers) in calling on the University to rescind it's invitation to Obama. No explanation should be necessary, but if one is needed, here it is from the "Bishops Statement on Catholics in Political Life:"

"The Catholic community and Catholic institutions should not honor those who act in defiance of our fundamental moral principles. They should not be given awards, honors or platforms which would suggest support for their actions."

The Cardinal Newman Society of Notre Dame has set up a website (notredamescandal.com) where you can ask that this invitation be rescinded. It has telephone numbers and an online petition:

We will keep this link posted on the right top pane of this blog.

Threshing Grain reports that the Notre Dame switchboards have been overwhelmed with calls opposing this invitation. Let's keep them that way.

American Papist is giving the issue full coverage
